Boo-Hooray Presents Linder Sterling and Jon Savage – The Secret Public: Punk Montages, Photography, and Collages 1976-1981

Tonight, Boo-Hooray (the pop-up/parasite gallery c/o The Steven Kasher Gallery) will open Linder Sterling and Jon Savage The Secret Public: Punk Montages, Photography, and Collages 1976-1981. Linder Sterling and Jon Savage (a performance/installation artist and an author/artist) started The Secret Public as a fanzine in Manchester in 1978. The show will feature images from the time period, some of which were used as flier and posters for the likes of the Buzzcocks, Joy Division, and Factory Records. All original fliers, handbills, posters, collages, and original publications will be on exhibit, as well as Jon Savage’s photographs from the era, which were used to make these collages, and montages. Linder will also be showing photographs from underground transvestite parties from the club Mr. Dickens from 1976. Get there.
