Books: Misha Hollenbach “Pink/Brown Stool/Stool”
Last weeks, Seems Books held the release party for Misha Hollenbach’s newest book, Pink/Brown Stool/Stool. For those of you who don’t know Misha is a Melbourne artists and one half of the Perks and Mini duo. The 64-page, tiny format (4.5 x 7) book is limited to only 250 copies and features the work of Hollenbach which is best described by Timoth Moore in the introduction to the book:
“In a lineage that extends through Jim Shaw, Andy Warhol and Marcel Duchamp, the rallying around the already readymade repositions things for freer symbolic enterprises. In the re-presentation of shit, Misha touches upon the etymological origins of faeces, which derives from faex, the Latin for dregs. He is using the dregs, things humans have casted away; shit becomes a metaphor for the unwanted.”
