Michael Bevilacqua “Placebo Effect” At Gering & Lopez

Opening last night at Gering & Lopez and running until August 20th, Michael Bevilacqua presents Placebo Effect, a collection of new paintings for the artist’s second solo show at the gallery. The New York based Bevilacqua draws from his personal life to create these autobiographical works. Drawing references from the Ramones, Gorillaz, and Placebo, Placebo Effect scrawls graffiti style words and phrases across Bevilacqua’s paintings, forcing the viewer to switch between the text and image. Pretty rad stuff.
