Stoked Mentoring recently linked up with renowned handbag designer Rachel Nasvik for a benefit that brings together artists to help benefit the cause. 100 blank canvas totes were distributed across NYC on August 19 from secret locations, to be embellished, deconstructed, collaged, torched, bedazzled, etc by willing competitors all vying for a chance to win one of 13 limited-edition Fall 2010 bags. The winning totes will be part of a gallery show and sale on August 31st at Lower East Side boutique TG-170, with proceeds of bag sales going to Stoked. Also for sale along with contest submissions will be totes designed by a range of creative artists and musicians, including Chan Marshall of Cat Power, Aaron Rose, Thomas Campbell, Erik Foss, and more.
