Kenny Scharf “Naturafutura” And “Three Dozen” At Paul Kasmin Gallery
Opening up last night at Paul Kasmin Gallery in New York City, the iconic and prolific Kenny Scharf opened up a two-fold exhibition which sees a new series of large-scale paintings inspired by the surroundings of his coastal studio in Brazil with “Naturafutura” at the gallery’s 10th Avenue location, and “Three Dozen,” a collection of Scharf’s donut paintings at the 27th Street spot. “Naturafutura” explores landscape and humankind’s multi-layered connections to it. Vivid floral designs, bright colors, water elements and more all come directly from the eye of Scharf. “Three Dozen” tickles the taste buds with the ever-iconic images with assorted flavors and colors all floating amongst a surreal skyscapes. The exhibitions will both be on display until February 26th. See some of the work from both exhibitions below.
