Adam Bricusse “Sideshow” At The Outsiders
From the press release:
The Outsiders presents “Sideshow,” a carnival of wonders and curiosities from artist Adam Bricusse.
“Sideshow” is high art with a fanzine mentality. Superheroines, other worldly guardians, pugilists, circus freaks and apex predatores are interpreted through Bricusses estimable skills. The exhibitions features a wide range of paintings and drawings on paper based on the theme of love, violence and heroism, and the battles between animals and humans. The shapes, colours and draughtsmanship are consistently energetic and fluid combining airbrush, oils, and glazed varnishes.
Innocence and experience, sex and violence, life and death lurk magically in these, opulent, multi-layered paintings. Peculiar yet playful and reflecting the often sinister nature of the human subconscious, they are genuine glimpses into the psyche of the artist, an alarming yet sensuous diary of appetites all combining to present a whirlwind Sideshow.
The exhibition will run from April 15th – May 7th.
