The sweet spot where minimalism, Pop Art and the political collide: Andisheh Avini finds the abstract overlap in this complex triangulation whether it manifests in his paintings, drawings or even sculpture. Yes, as someone of Persian descent, Avini was essentially born in exile, but are we not all cut off from our ancestry quite simply by the passage of time? The American hostage crisis, epic battle scenes, khatam marquetry: Avini re-contextualizes a shared history through his modernist filter and in doing so reflects one facet of the contemporary Iranian-American experience. Past exhibitions include solo shows in Turin, Berlin, Palm Beach, and New York.
Today Exhibition A presents three prints by Andisheh Avini: Pink, Yellow and Blue. These archival inkjet prints on canvas are each a limited edition of 50. Each print is delivered with a certificate of authenticity that is signed and numbered by the artist.
