The term “house” takes on a double role in this feature of House Industries from The Scout. The first should be rather obvious as it’s a feature on House Industries. The second comes from the photos from inside the house of Andy Cruz, one of the founders of House Industries. The piece offers some great insight into the type foundry and it’s early beginnings, coupling in Cruz’s (and the rest of the House crew) blue-collar upbringing that has played more of a crucial role than one would think in helping establish House Industries as the pinnacle of font and type design.
