While it seems as though every brand under the sun has either released a New Era hat or is currently waiting in line to get theirs put out, Marc Jacobs has just linked up with the headwear company for a collection of four caps in what appears to be a slight departure for the longstanding fashion icon. Even the above video, which showcases a high-end fashion hat box, sees how the collaboration doesn’t quite mesh, with rich wool baseball-inspired hats in their New Era’s 59Fifty silhouette. For a progressive and usually always interesting brand like Marc Jacobs, it would have been interesting to see him rework or reintroduce some old style, classic baseball caps into today’s fashion world with this collaboration, or added a supreme fashion element to the silhouette, not just your standard branded New Era.

The hat will release today at Marc Jacobs retailers.
