Bicycle Film Festival “Joyride” Exhibition With Leo Fitzpatrick, Julia Chiang, Mint & Serf, Erik Foss, And More

From the press release:
Bicycle Film Festival is proud to announce the 2011 Joyride Art Show, its annual bicycle-inspired group exhibition that brings together internationally established and emerging artists over a shared passion for the bicycle.

Brendt Barbur, Bicycle Film Festival Founding Director curates Joyride every year. The BFF has been creating connections between art and the bike community since the first BFF in 2001 with an art show in the basement of Anthology Film Archives. Joyride has been an evolution of this initial idea to showcase bikes and art together and the creativity of those who ride bikes. The first official Joyride show was in 2005, and was born from the urgency of creating a visual manifestation of one of the most powerful and culturally relevant emerging movements of this decade: the urban bike movement.

The diverse talents involved in Joyride range from photographers, filmmakers, internationally renowned artists, to first-time artist-bikers that simply find inspiration in their daily riding, all bound together by a genuine enthusiasm for bikes and what they represent to the individual and to culture as a whole.

The artwork will be exhibited at Spencer Brownstone Gallery in Soho.

Opens June 23rd and runs until June 30th.
