Here’s the info on the history of the three works:
For a site-specific exhibition “On the Water” at Deitch Projects in Long Island City, Josh Smith painted forty seven pictures directly onto the wall removing “art from the object” and negating any collectability from the equation…. until now. Using super high resolution images from the installation, Josh has resurrected three signature pieces from his fabled show: a leaf, a fish and a name painting, which he hopes people will buy in clusters and arrange to their curatorial liking.
