“Post 9-11″ At OHWOW LA With Dan Colen, Ryan McGinley, Dash Snow, And More

The impact of the art world in our post 9-11 world saw New York City fluttered with activity. In the decade-long stint since the fateful event, the artwork produced in that time period and in the region became definitive of an era. “Post 9-11,” which is set to open at OHWOW Los Angeles on June 30th, is a group exhibition that defies categorization into a particular movement or style, yet poignantly references a collective history through works of painting, photography, sculpture, and installation.

The nine artists in this show, Dan Colen; Terence Koh; Hanna Liden; Nate Lowman; Adam McEwen; Ryan McGinley; Agathe Snow; Dash Snow; and Aaron Young, are all New York-based artists, collaborators, friends, and part of a community, sharing ideas, studios, apartments, and themselves to create an intimate collective that inspires, aides, and assists in creative progression.

“Creating imagery, which at times expressed a rebellious spirit and freedom, also responds to their experience of these ten tumultuous years. The Post 9-11 artists’ work runs the gamut: defiant, irreverent and destructive; sublime, utopian, and filled with emotion.”

The exhibition will run until August 27th.
