Video: Street, 2011 With Todd James, Barry McGee, And Stephen Powers
With their Art In The Streets exhibition in full swing still, MOCA gives all of those who couldn’t make it out to Los Angeles (and who can’t make it out there) a peek into one of our favorite installations, Street, 2011 which was birthed out of the collaborative project and exhibition from Barry McGee, Todd James, and Stephen Powers titled “Street Market.” Todd told us a little about the early rumblings of the newer version of the exhibition in our interview with him, and the final results do not disappoint as the trio also called in Devin Flynn, Josh Lazcano, Dan Murphy, and Alexis Ross to be a part of it, truly bringing art in the streets to the museum setting. The above video takes you on a tour of the exhibition, without the crowd, offering the viewer a unique glimpse into the quiet, art-filled streets.
