Pine Sol vs. Pine Glo: Which One Should You Use?

Can you imagine what our world would be like if there were no cleaning products?

There’s no denying that cleaning products have become an important part of our daily lives. Without them, we would be living in grime and dust. They are indispensable.

Of all the cleaning products out there, Pine Sol stands out effortlessly. It is an incredible product as far as cleaning is concerned, and customers can’t stop singing praises about it.

Having been in existence since 1929, Pine Sol has surely stood the test of time and emerged as the winning cleaning product by all possible standards.

However, in an effort to create a much cheaper option for those who can’t afford Pine Sol, another variant was created and it was named Pine Glo.

Though this cheaper option was created by the same company, it does not fully outweigh the numerous benefits of using Pine Sol for cleaning.

Pine Sol and Pine Glo are two different cleaning products from the same company. Pine Sol is the main product that was first created while Pine Glo was created later as a budget option, which is usually sold for $1 or less.

Sadly, Pine Sol vs Pine Glo has become a hot debate between customers of both products. A debate over which product is better.

Pine Sol vs Pine Glo

Read on to find out.

Pine Sol vs Pine Glo: the differences

Fragrance

This is perhaps the foremost and most obvious difference between Pine Sol and Pine Glo. Pine Sol contains pine essential oil as the components for its fragrance while Pine Glo has no pine in it at all. Its fragrance is from chemical components.

Dilution

Once the two products are diluted, Pine Glo is said to be grossly limited in its capabilities. Pine Glo has been said to be grossly lacking in cleaning and disinfecting capabilities once it is diluted.

Cleaning capabilities

Pine Sol has greater cleaning capabilities especially in the presence of tough stains and spots. On the other hand, Pine Glo performs reasonably well for the most part, but it often requires you to put in extra effort in cleaning.

In essence, Pine Sol is a much more effective cleaner that saves you time and energy.

Disinfecting capabilities

In their undiluted states, the two products disinfect quite effectively. However, once they are diluted Pine Sol is still able to disinfect effectively while Pine Glo is not able to disinfect effectively.

Worthy of note is the fact that Pine Sol has been tested and certified as a cleaner that kills the covid-19 virus. You read that right! Pine Sol is a strong disinfectant against the coronavirus.

The Pine Sol cleaner is an accredited SARS Cov-2 virus killer. An independent lab carried out the test and found out that it killed the virus within 10 minutes.

Pine Sol vs Pine Glo: the similarities

Recall that Pine Sol and Pine Glo were created by the same company for similar activities, and Pine Glo is a cheaper option, hence the two products have a few similarities, even though Pine Sol is a better option.

  1. Their major similarity is the fact that they are produced by the same company.
  2. They are both cleaning products.
  3. They both have fragrances. While one is from essential oil, the other is from chemical compounds.
  4. They can both be diluted.

So, what is the difference between Pine Oil and Pine Sol?

Pine Sol is a product produced by the company for various cleaning purposes while Pine Oil is a natural extract of the pine tree.

Pine oil used to be the active ingredient in Pine Sol at its inception. However, after a while, due to the expensive nature of pine oil, it was stepped down as the active ingredient but is still used in the product as its fragrance.
