Jay Jay Burridge “When Superstars Ruled The World” At Lazarides LA
From the press release:
Lazarides Gallery is pleased to announce the final exhibition in the temporary Beverly Hills space. “When Superstars Ruled The World” will be the first US exhibition for British artist Jay Jay Burridge and promises to be the most talked about show of the summer.
Presenting with the Lazarides Gallery for the first time, Jay Jay Burridge has brought dinosaurs of enormous proportion back to life morphing them to fit our fashionable modern lives. The breathtaking scale of Jay Jay’s sculptures in contrast with the simplicity of the construction makes the re-invention of these classic beasts truly extraordinary and appeals to everyone who was once a child.
When Superstars Ruled the World will feature over ten huge hand-built dinosaurs made of industrial packing materials, manipulated into occasional activities such as sipping tea, playing instruments, surfing and break-dancing. Jay Jay’s commercial approach to creating art will make fashion inspired multiples available to collectors of all stripes.
Opens August 13th and runs until August 26th, 2010.
320 North Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, CA
