- Intro and Interview by: Erik Foss -
Othelo Gervacio is a true talent.
I had the privilege to make Othelo’s acquaintance about four years ago when I was to be tattooed by my friend and contemporary Scott Campbell. I had never been to Saved before, and Othelo was the person who greeted me. He was welcoming, kind, and professional––an attitude he maintained when I later worked with him.As a gallerist, it’s a treat to work with such an artist as Othelo. Folks like him are few and far between, and there are a lot of artists who could learn something from this man.
His vision is a dark satire of a specific culture. He nails it, and it is done with precise execution. In his work, Othelo portrays an over-all message while paying close attention to detail.
This man will go far and is definitely one to watch.
This is only one man’s opinion, of course. >>>>
